The Next Step in yoga anatomy (pt. 1): integrated biomechanics

Event Description

Biomechanics, Interaction, Fascia: A 10 hour Intensive
Build on your knowledge from the Fundamentals course to discover more of the interconnectedness of your body through a range of yoga asanas.
Yoga practice shows us how moving one part of the body has effects across our whole being. This ten hour module focuses on these whole body interactions during asana practice from a biomechanical and connective tissue / fascia perspective. Over the weekend we will practice specific postures of each type of asana (seated, standing, forward bend, etc). With each pose we discover general movement directions, force distributions, tissue engagements, how to protect potentially vulnerable joints and personal relevance to individual body posture.
This course is suitable for anyone looking to deepen their anatomy knowledge and is a Required Course for the Downward Dog 300hr Advanced Teacher Training Program.
