AXEL MOLEMA'S “BODY MIND SOUL YOGA" IS A TRADITIONAL FORM OF HATHA YOGA THAT INCLUDES...
- Yoga exercises to improve strength, flexibility, coordination, balance and stamina.
- Breathing exercises to increase energy and well-being (Pranayama).
- Mindfulness, meditation and relaxation techniques to manage stress, improve concentration and calm the mind.
- Lectures on a variety of topics including the therapeutic benefits of yoga, optimal nutrition and character development.
Classes begin with the Sun Salutation, a series of movements designed to limber up the body. Students are then guided to learn and practise postures, called Asanas. Postures are held to benefit the organs and glands, and to slowly relax the muscles so they lengthen and strengthen properly. At the end of class, there is a period for deep relaxation which may include sitting meditation and visualization exercises while lying still.
